Installation and Usage

First thing to notice is the name change from DivXToDVD to ConvertXToDVD which I think is a better title to cover the load. Installation is very easy and it's something we see often when using VSO products. There's no hassle, simply agree to the user agreement, find a spot to put the software and install it.

The size of the installation is not very big, so it won't take up much space on your harddisk. VSO's patented Patin Coufin layer is also installed during the installation, this to ensure full access to your DVD writer.

Usage
The name of the game is conversion. The principle is very simple; you take some file(s) as input and convert them to create a DVD. Whether the files are avi, mpeg, mov or wmv, ConvertX can convert many formats. Before you start converting you can customize the output to DVD, choose if you want a menu included, the titles, languages and such, so you can get a completely customized DVD.

The program offers many options when converting a supported source file to DVD. One of the new options is that you can choose the speed of the encoding process, faster encoding means lower quality and vice versa. This version also has extended support for subtitles, but I didn't have many subtitles to test with. The ones I tried seem to work fine, you can set font type, weight, size etc. If you would like to know more on this, you can visit the forum here, the people there can help you out a lot. In the following sections I will describe all the options and test with the speed settings.
