Extra Settings
Aside from the name change, from DivXToDVD to ConvertXToDVD, the program has a lot more options available to the end user then its predecessor. Let's take a closer look and really dive into the options to see what has changed.

General
In this section you can set the working folder where ConvertX stores the (temporary) converted files. It's important you have plenty of room available there to support the converted files. If you have enabled the video preview to show, you can select to flip the image of the preview here as well. Along with these two options you can select the theme/skin of the program and whether it checks for updates on the internet or not.
Language
This tab regulates the language of ConvertX. It has 19 languages installed default. You can expand this select by using the language tool and making your own language files for the program.
Chapters
With chapters you can set the amount of time in between when a chapter is created. You can also set for which videos the program should create chapters, which is determined by the length of the video.
Authoring
This is the tab shown in the image above. It shows an important option, namely the option to automatically start playing the DVD instead of showing the root menu first. You can decide to include a menu with the DVD and what the default title and background of the menu should be, when you do. Other options allow you to customize the menu further, such as font type, size and color. The previous version didn't have these options and it's quite an improvement.
TV Format
Here you can set the screen size and the framerate. This means you can switch between 16:9 and 4:3 sizes and the NTSC and PAL standards.
Burning
This selection contains all the settings that bare weight on burning the files to DVD. You can turn on the option to write to DVD and select which writer to use. Other options are to include the original file(s) on the DVD, erase the temporary files on your harddisk after a successful burn and eject the DVD after burning and to send the burn statistics to VSO online.
Subtitles
In this section you can select the default language of the subtitles and the placement of the subtitles on the screen. This means that you have to have a source that contains subtitles for with your movie, it doesn't generate them automatically.
Audio
The audio options are basically the same as the subtitles, you can set the default language and that's pretty much it.
Encoding
Encoding now holds more options then before. You can select the target size of the conversions, meaning you can select a normal DVD target size, a DVD DL target size or custom sizes. The priority of the encoding process can also be regulated; this means you can dedicate more or less processing time to the conversion. One very important option is the encoding quality/speed option; this option allows you to select the speed with which you encode the video with. Faster encoding means less quality and vice versa. You have to keep one thing in mind though, if you set the quality to medium or good, but set the target size smaller then a DVD, the quality will still be less because the compression is higher to fit target size.
