Settings
Now that we've added the files to the filelist, let's see what VSO have in store for us underneath the "settings" button other then a buggy language selection.
Imaging
The "Imaging" tab is used for the effects on the slideshow transitions. When displaying the slides, PhotoDVD will slightly pan and zoom the images for a less static effect. People will hardly notice, but it looks very smooth on the eye, and is less boring then "static" slideshows. The quality of these effects can be set, and I set them to "high" quality for the best results. The cutting, amplitude (of the pan effect) and zoom factor can be adjusted here as well. The "timing" option sets the amount of seconds an image is displayed, the transition slider let's you decide on how long a transition from one image to another takes.

DVD Format
In the DVD Format tab you can select the output format. Select either PAL (Europe) or NTSC (America, Asia) and select either 4:3 format (Fullscreen) or 16:9 (Widescreen). I selected PAL and fullscreen, since the person who I will be making this DVD for doesn't have a widescreen display. Fullscreen DVD's will still be playable on widescreen TV's though, and vice versa, but with black sidebars filling up the spaces.
Subtitles
The subtitles tab is one of the more interesting options in my opinion. This feature is disabled by default, but ticking the box on top of this screen will allow you to enable it. From this window, you can select what type of language the first subtitle set should be, and in what font you want it displayed. You can select upto 3 different subtitle channels. The subtitle button on your DVD player remote will enable you to select any of these 3 channels. Use these subtitles to add comments to your photo's. How this is done will be explained on the next page.

Media statistics
VSO collects media statistics from you, but you can disable this if you dont appreciate this option.
In order to improve the quality of our software, and to establish
a chart of good media based on the end user's experience,
we are collecting media and hardware information.
Each time a burn process has been finished, information about
the process (software version, used writer and media,
success/failure) is submitted to our server.
As an internet connection is required, you should only activate this
feature if you have a permanent connection.
NOTE: We do not collect any information that may help to identify a
given computer or person!
This feature is enabled by default. Since I think this feature will only improve the quality of future programs I left it enabled.
