Nero Burning Rom - Options
Nero Burning Rom hosts a lot of settings to customize and optimize your writing experience.
Most users will usually use the Nero SmartStart center and use Nero Burning Rom once they get more accustomed to the whole Nero suite.
Once they do, they will find more options then what is usually available.

When you walk through the options you will see several tabs with options covering the subject on the tab.
In compilations, you will find some compilation related options, weather you want to start with a new compilation each time or not, if you want remember the compilation name last used, etc.
Cache will allow you to adjust the location and amount of cache used by the system.
Here the files that will be written to your media will be stored (cached), for quick access when you are writing your media.
The language tab will enable you to change the language used in Nero Burning Rom.
You can also define the font being used in the program.
A tab next to that is the sounds tab, which is basically for the audible alerts given by the program when writing.
You can adjust the sounds for a successful burn, a failed burn and when Nero is waiting for media to be inserted.
The audio tab might be confused with the sounds tab, but these are two different tabs.
Here you will find the location for the audio plug-ins.
Audio plugins allow you to convert or extract audio from or to audio CD's.
Now we come to the second row of tabs available in the options and this one is slightly important for the more frequent media writers among us, the expert features.
Some important options have been housed under this tab.
Here you can enable overburning for CD's and DVD's and enable the generation of short lead-out's on your media.
Among with some other options like not ejecting the disc after writing it, etc.
Next we see a database tab; this allows you lookup audio CD titles over the internet by using the CDDB database.
This in turn will fill out all the song and album titles, allowing you to burn a Text CD.
Ultrabuffer is the amount of memory Nero uses as a buffer for writing media.
Nowadays most writers have their own buffer, all different in sizes, but Nero has an extra buffer to ensure a successful burn.
This is set to automatic, at default, but you can change it to manual settings and enumerate the amount of memory you would like it to use.
The next tab covers the file browser settings.
Here you can enable or disable such settings as weather or not the file browser should show hidden files.
Users that have used Nero Burning Rom 6 previously and have dabbled with its settings know that these settings were already present, in some form or another.
But here is a new tab for them to tinker with, the Misc tab.
It houses settings that were not available before or were hidden in the forest of registry settings.
These settings allow you to customize Nero that much further, letting you decide weather or not to enable or disable certain messages that normally provide you feedback on certain actions.

A new option available in the control panel is the ability to secure the burn rights on the computer.
This means that you can setup who gets to use the writer and who doesn't.
