Getting started and importing a DVD
No
installation is required and DvdReMake is a 'green' software
and doesn't create wasteful files that remain on your
PC if you don't use the software. For security reasons
you need to create an account first to enable certain
options such as buying and downloading. After creating
an account and logging in you will need to enter your
PC ID to enable a download. A few users have raised concern
over this as it is an inconvenience to a very small minority.
I'm yet to see anyone being denied the use of the program
since it's implementation and there has been nothing negative
in the forum that makes this an area of concern.
Once you input the PC, simply unzip the downloaded
file to the desired directory on your PC and your ready
to ReMake your DVD's. This also means no timely installation
is required, only a few seconds to input the ID. There
is no need to worry about rogue registry entries being
left behind after uninstalling of the software
Apart from the Support forum there is also a downloadable
help file. This is less than 2MB and includes quite
a lot of information. The limit is only how much the
user would like to learn as there's plenty of information
to start with if required but even the basic user can
get started straight away with little effort
Now we get to the fun part of opening a DVD. If you set
your default directory earlier then it should automatically
list the files if there are any in that directory. Simply
press Select to start the import process. The import process
time will depend on the size of the DVD and also the BOV
(Button Over Video) setting as this determines how DRM
scans the data. The import time can range from less than
a minute to 10 minutes depending on not just the BOV settings
but also the PC setup

Once imported you will see the default layout of the
Domain Pane on the left hand side and the DRM logo on
the right. Once you click on any of the Video Titlesets
you can see deeper into the DVD structure by expanding
the tree using the '+' or double clicking. You can move
the sections around within DRM or even float them for
easier viewing and working. This layout is customisable
and you can see some of the layouts users have submitted
in this thread HERE . In this review
the GUI theme used was MS Office 2003 and the Docking
Type was left to default. The menu animations were random
but only to see which worked best for now
