Conclusion
I like the fact that this program is very innovative.
Using the Windows native built-in backup program and extending it to a more powerful tool that can rival some the existing backup software out there.
A disadvantage is that Firestreamer has to support the writing techniques used for DVD drives.
This means that when a new technology comes out, like Blu-ray for instance, it isn't supported right away.
Luckily the need for new technologies is very well recognized by Crystalink and they work hard to bring the latest innovations to Firestreamer.
Another aspect of this program is that it makes the backup medium scalable.
Meaning that if someone is in need of a tape drive for backups, they can consider using this piece of software for their backup needs.
Actually there are a lot of situations where this might come in handy.
Because it acts as a virtual tape driver and removable media services can recognize it, it can be used in other programs that need tape drives too.
To add to that, you can change the type of drive you want to backup to very quickly.
One more thing I'd like to point out is the nice support they have.
The problems with the filters I ran into are described on their site in great detail.
This means they took great care in providing support with detailed descriptions on how to solve errors.
You can also get live support in the form of email, which I've tested and I was very pleased to get such quick response and support.
