Conclusion
1ClickDVDCopy is completely user friendly and with just one click of a button, I
had the ability to back up my entire movie to either a dual layer with no compression ( this is true upto 8.5GB, then compression wil be needed ) or single disc with compression. The entire process took less than 30 minutes for a 2 hour movie on my test machine. The resulting quality for the single layer recorded DVD was comparable to
DVDXCopyXPress, with very little noticeable reduction in video quality for such a long film and the colors where very vibrant. To further enhance the quality of the backup some users may like to remove unwanted content such as warnings, trailers, extras etc. This will increase the space available for the content to be kept and reduce the compression level. One such tool that allows this advanced editing is DvdReMake.
The default settings built into this software are very good for anyone who just wants a quick no fuss 1Click backup of their DVDs. Of course, my dual layer backup looked just like the original!, but it is nice to see such early support for this new media from LG Innovations.
All audio and video on the original DVD were present on the backup copy, and unlike some software, extra warnings where not added to the copy
I made. I would have liked to see titleset preview ( although you do have the option to preview with a software player before burning ), and a 'per title' compression slider, but like
I have already stated in this review, the quality was very good indeed. This software does exactly what it says on the box so I'm sure a lot of people will use this software to backup their DVD collection.
One option that is not visible in this software, but is worth pointing out, is the built in error correction which the manufacturer says can recover almost all damaged DVDS as long as they can be physical read in your DVD Rom drive. Our error correction tests came out very favourable indeed, where 1Click DVD Copy was the only software to be able to correctly fix bad sectors available on this DVD Video.
So it seems that LG Innovations have kept to the things that made version 2 so popular - ease of use, making the DVD backup process as simple as it could possibly get.
