Our review media arrived shrink wrapped in a single jewel case own ensuring no damage could be done to the discs, although the retail version will come in either a 5 pack of jewel cases or in DVD case versions.
The top writing surface of the disc is a very eye catching and pleasing 2 tone Gold with the Traxdata logo in white.
The recording surface is a dark purple and carries the RITEK-D01-01 dye code according to VSO Inspector and Nero CD Speed.
In these tests the software used for all the recording is CopyToDVD 3. VSO software's new Media information utility - VSO Inspector and
Nero CD Speed
from ahead software was used for gathering our information about the inserted media. DVDInfoPro, CD Check, VSO Inspector and Nero CD Speed and were used to check the recorded DVD for errors and compare the reordered files against the original ones. The hardware used for this review
consisted of the NEC 3500AG and the LiteOn 1213S DVD drives.

As the above screenshot from VSO Inspector shows, the Media Code/Manufacturer ID of RITEK-D01-01 which is proof that it manufactured with the well proven recordable dye by leading media manufacturer Ritek.
Ritek are at the forefront of Double Layer technology and these discs will be a good benchmark to compare with future Double Layer media to be released by other manufacturers.
Nero CD Speed confirming the Media ID code:

Available burning speeds in the NEC 3500AG Dual layer drive. showed 2.4x and 4x
recording speeds available, capacity of the disc was 7.96 GB and to be classed as a good media, compatibility problems should not be present with both PC and newer standalone DVD Players.
