Conclusion
The Traxdata 8x DVD-R media burnt perfectly at 8x using both CopyToDVD and DVDDecrypter, recording either data DVD or Video ISO images on our Pioneer 107 XLB. The current firmware for this drive also recognised the media at 8X without any problems, but we do advise checking that you have the latest firmware for use with this high speed media.
No Errors on the recorded Traxdata Media where found whilst recording any of the review samples sent for use in these tests.The test DVD Video that was recorded for this review played without any flaws in both the Bush and Cyberhome standlone DVD players used for this review, and 3 data backups where recorded and sent to another PC where they copied across without any problems at all.
The frosted writing surface was easy to write onto with plenty of room for writing multiple lines. The Traxdata media also passed the verification tests meaning no errors where found and we had a reliable backup of our important records. A small but very nice feature of the jewel case was that there was actually a clear printed space to write a volume name on both spines of the case, making for easy recognition of the disc amongst a collection of discs. This is something you dont see very often nowadays and it is this attention to detail that is typical of products released under the Traxdata brand.
Here at CDR-Zone we found no problems using the 8X DVD-R media in 7 seprate recordings and can highly recommend this media for use with todays 8X capable DVD writers.
