Conclusion
Conclusion:
The Traxdata 4x DVD-RW media burnt perfectly at 4x using both CopyToDVD and DVDDecrypter, recording either data DVD or Video ISO images on our Pioneer 107 XLB or Plextor 708, although we must add that it was only recognised as 2x in our NEC 2510a using firmware 2.15 and we hope this will be resolved in an updated firmware release from NEC.
No Errors where found on the Traxdata Media used during these tests. After rewriting to the same media 10 times, there where still no errors or surface scan problems found.
The test DVD film that was recorded for this review played without any flaws in the standlone DVD player and recorded without any problems on a Sony GX3 standalone DVD recorder. The writing surface was easy to write onto with plenty of room for writing multiple lines. The Traxdata media also passed the verification tests meaning no errors where found and we had a reliable backup of our important records.
Just like with the DVD+RW, it seems Traxdata have released yet another quality RW media that can be successfully written to time and time again, and i have no doubt that this media will continue to contain no errors after 100's of rewrites, making it a great purchase if continuous, error free backups of your important data is what you are looking for in your rewritable media, or simply for recording your favourite shows in perfect safety on you standalone DVD Recorder.
During these tests, the DVD-RW media was rewritten to a massive 14 times without any errors or skippping in playback for movie files and all data that was recorded onto this media displayed no errors and was able to be copied back to the test PC with no problems at all.
