Conclusion
Conclusion:
The Traxdata 16 DVD+R media media burnt perfectly at speeds of 16x on all 5
pieces of media sent to us with Nero Burning ROM, recording either data DVD or Video DVD images on our BEN Q 1620 using firmware B7H9.
All the software DVD Players played the DVD without error except for the
Technics DVD Player which we find to be consistent with over similar tests on DVD+R media and the Technics device. Most importantly with a new type of recordable media, the Traxdata 16 DVD+R media also passed all the verification tests meaning no errors where found and we had a reliable backup of our important records even at 16x recording speeds. CD Speed gave it a very high quality score and no C1 or C2 failures where reported.
Traxdata is one of the first manufacturers to ship 16x+R media into Europe and you can expect them at your local supplier soon.
At the time of writing this review only the BEN Q 1620 was capable of achieving 16x recording speeds to this media with official firmware. We look forward to more widespread support for this media within the coming weeks and drives such as the Pioneer DVR 108 and NEC 3500 should be capable of achieving 16x speeds to this media.
We again would like to take this opportunity to thank Conrexx/Ritek Europe for sending us this media before its official release for us to review for our readers.
