Nero CD Speed Showing no errors reported during its scan of the Taiyo Yuden 8x-R media:

To check for any surface or PI/PIF errors on the recorded DVD-RW,
Nero CD Speeds Disc quality test was used to scan the recorded Media with the BEN Q 1620. The BENQ 1620 has proven itself here at CDR-Zone.COM has being a very reliable reader for this test and it will give a very good indication of how well the Taiyon Yuden 8x-R media has been recorded with the Pioneer DVR 108.
Of special interest here is whether or not higher PI (C1) and PO (C2) errors are noticed at the over speed of 12x and whether or not any actual failures are reported which would indicate a bad recording. To round this test off we also check to see if any extra jitter is noticed at the higher recording speed which could indicate a un balanced disc at high speed :

The tests show that very low PI/PIF errors were reported and this is a quality recording of this media on the Pioneer DVR 108 at an over speed of 12x. The Jitter was also extremely low and consistent with an average of 9.14% and a maximum of 10.8%, indicating a well balanced disc during recording.
The average PI (C1) error rate was a mere 1.21 with a maximum of 13 which was attained right at the end of the recording. In fact if it hadn't been for this sharp rise in right at the end of the disc, the max PI Error would of been even lower.
Using the combination of the Pioneer DVR 108 and Taiyo Yuden media we got avery good recording.
NOTE:"The less PI/PIF errors that are found on a media then in theory the longer the archival life of the media and so this media should have a good archival life without data loss, that said these are to be used as a basic guideline to the quality of the media recorded on the writer only."
