Introduction
A couple of months back I got the chance to review the Plextor 16x DVD+R media from Plextor. It also uses the same manufacturer and dye code as the Miflop 16x DVD-R media I got to review just before christmas of 2005. I found it to be of a decent quality and so when SVP communications offered me the chance to review the new 16x DVD-R version from Plextor the only answer was yes!
As this media ID has been on the market for a long time I expect very good firmware support and all the DVD writing devices to be very well tuned. It is normal for Plextor branded media to be well supported at its rated speed right from the day of release and I will be looking to see if any of the used devices had issues with this new media has I further investigate over the cause of this review.
So I have some reference material to compare this latest offering from Plextor against. Has the same been achieved on a consistent level or better/worse with all the review recording devices? Is this media to be cherished or stayed away from? All are questions that I can answer hopefully during this review as I test drive Plextors 16x DVD-R media.
