Packaging and presentation:
Our test media arrived a spindle of 10 discs with a greeting slip on top of the
spindle giving the manufactures website should you never need to gain assistance
direct from Mirror themselves.
The recording surface is a light purple and carries the TY G02 dye code according to VSO Inspector and
CD Speed.
DVD-R information:
In these tests the software used for all the recording where CopyToDVD 3 and
Nero Burning Rom.
VSO softwares new Media information utility -
VSO Inspector was used for gathering our
information about the inserted media. CDCheck,
were used to check the recorded DVD for errors on the recorded media. The
hardware used was the NEC 2510A and Pioneer A08.
As the above screenshot from VSO Inspector shows, the Media Code/Manufacturer ID of
TY G02 which is proof that it manufactured with the highly respected Taiyon
Yunden dye. Renowned for high compatibility on a wide range of both PC and
standalone DVD Writers/ Players.
CD Speed confirming the media code:
Available burning speeds in our NEC 2510A showed 2x- 8x CLV recording available for this single layer recordable media,
although once placed in our Pioneer A08, VSO Inspector reported 12x possible
with this media.
Capacity of the disc was 4.38 GB and compatibility problems should not be present with both PC and newer standalone DVD Players.
