Introduction
Infiniti media have just released a new line of 16x DVD-R media under their Samurai branding
and Medea International have asked CDR-Zone to fully test it and show the results for our readers benefit. Available in the 'trademark' different shades that the Samurai range has to offer, Infiniti have chosen to go with the same dye as used in the Verbatim 16x-R review we published last month for our readers.
The fact that Infiniti have chosen should a well established company as Mitsibushi chemicals( the company that makes the Verbatim dye ) to produce their first ever range of 16x media is hopefully a very good sign that they are taking their 16x range very seriously. The Verbatim version gave us very nice results on our review devices and we will be paying extra attention during this review to see is the Infiniti version is just as good.
We also get to introduce to our readers a new review recording device - the Plextor PX-716 with TLA #304. During this review we will be looking to see if the Plextor can give as good a result with its recording of the infiniti 16x-R media as the other established review recording devices.

Our review media came to us in 2 spindles of 25 with the spindles being shrink wrapped and very nice and tightly packed into a proper spindle sized box ensuring no damage could be caused during shipping. The disc itself that we are reviewing, as mentioned is from the Samurai range and is a non printable version of this disc although a printable version is also available is so desired.
The recording surface is a light purple and carries the Media ID of MCC03RG20 according
to
VSO Inspector and should be capable of speeds of upto 16x on our review devices just like our Verbatim version was.
