Conclusion
As this was the first time I had reviewed a media using a Prodisc maufactured dye, I didn't have any reference media for this review. No 8x DVD+/-R or 16x DVD-R reviews to draw experience from but this particular batch of Fujifilm 16x DVD+R media did seem to leave some very pleasing results on drives that supported it well. The Philips DVDR1660P1 produced the most likeable results in my opinion with it's Solidburn logic enabled - no problems are apparent with any of the results of this recording device. But its fair to say that none of the recording devices used in this review had any obvious issues with the Fujifilm 16x DVD+R media. As mentioned earlier firmware updates have vastly improved the Plextor PX-760A's handling of this media id through it's Autostrategy database function and it would be nice to see some fine tuning on both the Optiarc and Pioneer recording devices in future respective firmware updates.
So it seems that the combination of Fujifilm and Prodisc has worked very well on this batch of the Fujifilm 16x DVD+R media and if all batches produced are similar in quality to these then I can quite happily recomend them for short term archiving for both DVD Video and DVD Data with the results I have shown during this review. As to long term archiving, many factors can impede this process that I am not able to show in this review, but as always, storing this media in a jewel case away from bright light and proper handling should help greatly increase its chances.
As always I look forward to hearing your comments and results with this media in the Media forum.
