Source:
We have been informed by VCDEasy of a new version of their software.
VCDEasy allows you to play/watch your videos (from DV camcorder, DivX, DVD,...), your pictures (from digital camera, scanner,...) and your audio files (music, audio comments,...) directly on most of the home DVD players, without having to buy a DVD Writer and DVD discs. How ? VCDEasy allows you to build easily VideoCDs (VCD/SVCD)!
On the burning side:
Major improvement: an ASPI layer is no more needed on Windows NT/2000/XP in order to burn! No more painful ASPI layer installation!
Major improvement: VCDEasy now locks the access to the CD writer (on Windows NT/2000/XP) to prevent another application from interfering while burning!
Many CD writers have been added to the built-in list of supported CD writers, so no CD writer configuration is now needed in most cases
Ability to choose the number of copies to burn
Ability to use easily VCDEasy as BIN/CUE and TOC burning application (all you have to do is to associate the .cue and/or the .toc files with VCDEasy)
No need to deal anymore with the temporary CD image files
Each generated CUE file now contains the corresponding BIN file name in the long filename format without the directory information, allowing you to move the BIN/CUE CD image files to another location if needed.
On the pictures encoder side (MPEG stills):
Some picture file formats have been added: JPEG 2000, TDU Hips, Sun raster image, ...
VCDEasy can now use EXIF information (www.exif.org) for an automatic generation of MPEG stills captions
An annoying memory leak (in the batch mode of the MPEG stills creation) has been fixed
Some other changes:
Some performance and reliability improvements have been made
The tasks executions reports have been simplified
New look and feel, with a built-in themes support added (in addition to the regular XP themes support).
A toolbar has been added.
Many bug fixes
Many changes in the source code structure. This was a long but mandatory task in order to ease the integration of new feature in the future
... and many more! See the history page on www.vcdeasy.org for a more detailed list of changes.
