We have been informed by VCDEasy of a new software they will soon be releasing and about a 20% off offer they are running for the next couple of weeks. Also a new update to VCDEasy itself as beem announced.

The changes between the versions 2.1.1 and 2.1.3 are:

Requested by many users: the specials characters (&,é,à,ù...) are now allowed in file/folder names (i.e 8bits ASCII characters support). For example, VCDEasy no more refuses some MPEG files because they are stored in a folder called "Vidéo" (with an "é") .
The underlying VideoCD creation engine has changed (one of the consequence of this new engine: the next version of VCDEasy will accept/use long filenames in the ISO filesystem part of the VideoCD) .
Improvements of the character sets conversion routines (for example: the character "È" is no more mapped to "_", but to "E" now) . The built-in list of supported CD writers has been updated (about 40 CD writers added!) .
Some Minor tweaks.

VCDEasy 2.x and AudioVCD:

We will soon release a new tool: an audio converter allowing you to create high quality MPEG audio files for VideoCD. Coupled with VCDEasy 2.x, you will be able to create easily some AudioVCDs (up to 6 hours of high quality audio on one CD-R) and advanced multimedia VideoCDs with mixed content (pictures, audio, videos,...)

Remember: the MPEG audio files support has been introduced in VCDEasy 1.1.7, but better use a version 2.x of VCDEasy in order to create AudioVCDs. Thanks to the "free life time upgrades", licensed users of VCDEasy should simply use their private account on VCDEasy.org and get the last commercial version of VCDEasy.
