In the Taiwan market, retail prices of 16x DVD Dual DL (single-sided double-layer) burners made by major local producers, including Lite-On IT, BenQ, Asustek Computer and Micro-Star International, fell to NT$2,600-2,800 (US$81-88) last week.
Hitachi-LG Data Storage (HLDS) and Toshiba-Samsung Storage Technology (TSST) also lowered the retail prices of 16x DVD Dual DL burners to NT$2,850-2,900 (US$89-91), while Pioneer and NEC made a downwards adjustment of prices to NT$2,950-3,000 (US$92-94).
In addition, retail prices of local-brand 12x DVD Dual burners slipped to NT$2,200-2,300 (US$69-72). Those of 8x DVD Dual burners dropped to NT$1,900 (US$59).
