Plextor Europe, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of CD-ROM,
CD-ReWritable drives and CD media, is proud to present its new, high-speed
external CD-ReWritable drive with Ultra SCSI interface with a stylish, contemporary
silver design.
The PlexWriter 40/12/40S writes at 40x, rewrites at 12x and reads at 40x, and has
an Ultra SCSI interface.
With the arrival of the popular and cheaper ATAPI/IDE interface, the market for
CD-R/W drives with SCSI interface has weakened significantly in recent years.
For certain applications (such as networks) however, the preference still remains for CD-R/W drives with a SCSI interface.
The PlexWriter 40/12/40S offers the same functions as the internal version:
BURN-Proof, PoweRec and VariRec technology
4 MB Buffer
Access Time 120 ms
2-year warranty
High quality digital audio extraction
Easy firmware upgrade using FlashROM
Comprehensive support of CD-R and CD-R/W media
Use of a black tray limits the possibility of C1 errors. The black tray
absorbs a part of the OPU (Optical Power Unit) laser light to improve writing quality
The optimised print plate (PCB) limits internal murmur, with less jitter and an overall quality improvement as a result
Mount Rainier Ready
Selftest function: The PlexWriter 40/12/40S incorporates a new selftest function to detect whether or not the drive is defective
The Retail version contains:
PlexWriter 40/12/40S, 1 CD-R disc, 1 CD-R/W disc, 1 power cable,
CD Recording software Nero + InCD, Plextor Utility software (PlexTools) and a manual
in 16 languages.
The PlexWriter 40/12/40S will be available from February 2003 and the recommended end user price (Excl. VAT): 299 Euro.
