PLEXTOOLS PROFESSIONAL XL TAKES PLEXTOR OPTICAL CONTROL SOFTWARE TO ANOTHER LEVEL

Plextor appoints element5 as e-commerce outsourcing partner

Plextor today announces the launch of PlexTools Professional XL - a new software to support its CD and DVD drives. PlexTools Professional XL is targeted at end-user enthusiasts who want to directly control advanced functions such as a feature-rich user-interface.

Rik Swusten, Engineering Manager Plextor Europe, comments: "PlexTools Professional XL has been developed to meet the requests from our professional and industrial users, who demand increased software capability beyond the interests of our usual customers.

"Additionally, we listened to several software manufacturers who wanted to integrate Plextor functions into their test software, disc analysers or robotics applications. While we are not able to share all the technology in our hardware and software, the hi-tech functions within PlexTools Professional XL are designed to cater for manufacturers needs and will be available to them at a later date."

Plextools Professional XL will be sold directly on a newly built e-commerce site at www.plextools.com. Plextor has appointed specialist e-commerce outsourcer, element5, to host the site and handle online ordering, payment processing, digital downloads, licensing and multi-lingual customer service. element5 is a subsidiary of Digital River Inc, and an online sales supplier to many other major software vendors.
