Display and optical storage leader LG Electronics has released the Super Multi all-format DVD re-writer, which writes 4.7 GB on a DVD, in the local market. It had launched the optical storage device in the Middle East in early October last year.
LG claims that the drive is the world's only all-format DVD re-writer.
The re-writer can read and write DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R and CD-RW formats. Other features include 16X (maximum) read/write speed, 8X (maximum) re-write speed and a storage capacity of up to 4.7 GB of data - seven times that of a normal CD media.
The super multi DVD re-writer is priced at Rs 5,490.
"The Super Multi DVD re-writer is a true technology marvel which will help DVD users overcome the biggest hurdle of non-compatibility of various formats. LG's DVD Super Multi will go a long way in making DVD usage a memorable experience," said Manikandan, General Manager, Sales & Marketing, IT Products, LG Electronics.
