A new version of CD/DVD Inspector has been released, bringing its version number to 2.10, Build 267.
Professional software for intensive analysis and extraction of data from CD-R, CD-RW and DVD media. Tailored for professionals in data recovery, forensics, and law enforcement. Building on the data recovery technology in CD/DVD Diagnostic™, it adds detailed displays and enhanced media search abilities, improving performance and usability.
CD/DVD Inspector reads all major CD and DVD filesystem formats including ISO-9660, Joliet, UDF, HFS and HFS+. When the disc being examined contains more than a single filesystem, all filesystems found are displayed. Multiple filesystems are present for hybrid Macintosh/PC discs as well as for discs that are produced by DirectCD and other packet-writing software. DVD Video discs include both the UDF and ISO-9660 filesystem as well.
Changelog: Great improvements in recovering video from stand-alone DVD recorder discs. This also works with Hitachi and Sony camcorder discs as well as those from Panasonic, Philips and other manufacturer digital video recorders.
A bug was fixed in how ISRC and RID code display was being done. Sometimes the wrong ISRC code was being displayed, and the RID code formatting was incorrect.
Add selective use of C2 error reporting
The previously introduced use of C2 error reporting has now been made selective so that it can be turned off. Several drives have extremely slow read times when this is turned on, making it impractical to use. This can now be controlled via the Device Settings tab under the Preferences dialog.
Note that the default is OFF for existing users.
Support for spanned Roxio discs
Roxio's Easy CD Creator 6.0 product has introduced the ability to split files across discs and CD/DVD Diagnostic now has the ability to recognize such discs and reassemble the files.
A Temp Space button has been added to the General tab of the Preferences dialog. This allows the temporary space folder to be displayed and changed.
When right-clicking an audio track in the left pane the context menu has been changed to say "Copy audio track" and to fully support copying individual tracks in this manner.
The Copy All button will copy audio tracks from a disc with only audio tracks. When an Enhanced CD is used, the data session will be copied and the audio tracks must be individually copied.
Improvements to the Disc Memory display
The Disc Memory tab of the Preference dialog now shows the size each catalog entry is using and allows individual deletion of catalog entries.
Improvements in the Select Device dialog.
Now an indicator is shown when a device is ready or not.
Improvements in the bug reporting and recovery process.
