Whilst browsing CDR-Info, we have been made aware of BenQs plans to demonstrate their own 16X DVD+/-RW, and Dual layer DVD recorders."BenQ will demonstrate the upcoming DW1600A 16x DVD burner and the DW830A dual layer DVD recorder in CeBIT 2004.
The DW830A will be available in the market in April, 2004. The second generation of this drive is expected in the third quarter of 2004 and will probably support both DVD formats (DVD+R/-R).
The DVD+R9 drive will support the Walking-OPC II technology, offering real-time monitoring of the CD/DVD burning process for guaranteed recording quality. The specifications of the drive also include an 8MB buffer, and 8x recording for (4.7GB), 4x for DVD+RW, 12x DVD-ROM reading and 2.4x DVD+R9 burning."
