Audiotools is a direct-to-disk recording tool with the facility to automatically split a recording into tracks. It can split a recording into separate tracks, either by silence detection or under manual control. Any recordings which are already on your hard-disk can be automatically split or "auditioned" to manually split them. This is considerably faster than a graphical approach and can be happily left unattended in "auto-track" mode.
Changes between versions 4.40 interim 4 and 4.40 interim 5:
The manual mixer now waits a second before opening the soundcard. This helps slower machines to get their act together.
Creating a new profile now launches a wizard selector, to provide wizards specifically geared to the production of profiles. Apart from the normal empty profile, you can now create profiles based on optimising audio or reducing noise.
The display tab on the application preferences dialog now defaults to the main skin selection rather than the record skin. This is less confusing for a new user.
The simple recording profile could be confused by having the initial sequence number set to something other than 0. This has now been fixed.
Audiotools could sometimes crash when zooming on the waveform view. This has now been fixed.
Recent changes meant that Auto-track could end up detecting a track break but not actually splitting the recording. This has now been fixed.
