Taipei (October 24, 2006) – ATP Electronics Inc., the industry leading manufacturer of flash media storage products, announced the release of a Class 6 ProMax SD High Capacity (SDHC) 4GB memory card. This SDHC card, strictly following SD Association (SDA) v2.00 specifications, has passed rigorous testing for Class 6 certification at a recent SDA interoperability session performed by major camera manufacturers, such as Panasonic, Canon, Nikon and Casio. The Class 6 ProMax SDHC 4GB card maximizes the performances of newest models of high megapixel digital cameras such as Canon IXY 1000, PowerShot G7, A630/640, Panasonic DMC/SDR/DMR series, Nikon CoolPix S5, S6, D80 and Casio Exilim Z and S series digital cameras.

“It is part of our ongoing commitment and support to the high-end photographic market to continuously offer and upgrade technologically advanced and innovative products,” said Tim Hsieh, President of ATP Electronics Inc. “The ATP Class 6 ProMax SDHC 4GB card signifies our continued leadership in both quality and technology in bringing to market the best products created for professional grade use, yet available for everyone.”

The SDA v2.00 specifications were established to meet the growing demand for high-definition video and high-resolution image recording capabilities in many SD host devices. The new specification allows for capacity from 4GB up to 32GB. The Association classifies 3 class speed rating – class 2, 4, 6 with minimum sustained data transfer speed rating of 2MB/sec, 4MB/sec, and 6MB/sec respectively.

Although both standard SD and SDHC cards look identical, SDHC cards are not backwards compatible with SD host devices. To ensure compatibility, check with your device manufacturers and look for SDHC logo on SD-enabled devices.

ATP Class 6 ProMax SDHC 4GB card is reflective of the superior build quality tradition of all ATP products with durability features such as water and extreme temperature resistant. The card is available immediately to ATP worldwide customers.
