Asus demonstrated its first 8X DVD burner in Computex, Taipei. The DRW-0804A will support 8x writing for both DVD+R and DVD-R, and 4X for DVD-RW/+RW.
A very intersting part in the drive's specifications is the fact that the 8x writing strategy for DVD-R is the CLV, according to the official specifications in ASUS website. This means that the total writing time for 4.7GB of data is expacted to be approximately 7 minutes.
