Ahead, today makes available three new products, NeroROBO, NeroNET and a MPEG-4-AAC Audio Codec.
Product Information
NeroNET is the client/server version of Nero. It combines the functionality of Nero with a client/server technology used by many companies to connect their computers to a network. A user can work from any given workstation at which NeroNET is installed, create his own combination, initiate burning and send the corresponding label to the burner server. Initially, the user creates an image of the medium and its label locally at their own workstation.
The NeroROBO software is specially designed for users of desktop duplication systems (often known as robots or duplicators). These types of system are equipped with a robot arm, e.g. two recorders and a printer. The latest version of NeroROBO currently supports duplication systems with up to two recorders. Up to 100 CD/CD-RWs or DVDs can be currently processed in one order, depending on the type of duplicator. If a suitable printer is connected, the CD labels can also be printed at once.
The Nero AAC encoder will be capable of more than 10X real time encoding, therefore allowing a user to rip and encode a complete CD in around 7 minutes. Optimized for the latest CPU's including the Intel P4, MMX, SSE, and SSE2 -- Nero AAC is fully compliant with both MPEG-2 AAC as well as MPEG-4 AAC, and features 16-448 Kbits/s bit rate, constant and variable, with a special fit-to-size option. AAC Advanced audio coding is high-quality audio coding technology with broadcast and electronic music distribution applications. Independent tests have proven the coding efficiency of AAC to be superior to MP3 and other perceptual audio coders, providing superior audio reproduction at lower bit rates.
It seems that ahead is competing on all fronts now, with software to meet every burners needs.
