Ala42, the respected author of MediaSpeedEdit which enables users of compatible writers to swap write stategies and perform speed ups as just announced his crowning achievement.
Up to know the maximum read speed for recordable single layer DVD Media has been a pretty low 8x, while pressed single layer DVD Media could be read at 16x max. Thanks to Ala42 now we can enjoy the 16x read speed for the recordable version too. Its a really big achievement to double the reading speed of a drive for a certain media. On behalf of our readers at cdr-zone who have BenQ drives and are willing to take the risk with a modified firmware we salute you!
You can download MediaSpeedEdit on the official software thread over at the CDFreaks forum Here.
Please read the disclaimer that comes with this software as it may render your drives warranty useless.
