Getting started
I downloaded the latest version available, and after a quick chat with Fabrice, one of VSO’s developers, he provided me with a serial to fully test their application. The version I used is v1.0.10.476, but next week when it’s officially released, it will be renamed to PhotoDVD 2.0 for commercial reasons, no extra functionality is added coming from v1.0.10 to v2.0.
Installing PhotoDVD is easy as 1-2-3. Simply double click the file you downloaded, and follow the on-screen instructions, as with any windows application. A few clicks later and you will be good to go.

The opening screen of PhotoDVD is plain and simple. No fancy GUI with colored buttons and blinking graphics. Only what I need for any given operation is shown . That’s how I like it.
Right. I wanted to burn a dvd slideshow to dvd. I don’t want to hassle with setting and other things I don’t understand. I simply drag and dropped my pictures in the image list. You can also use the little folder icon underneath the image list to add, but I prefer to use the drag and drop method.

After I added the photos I wanted to burn to DVD, using the preview window I could check if all the files I added were there, and if there were any unwanted photos that slipped into the list by accident. Underneath the preview window there is an indicator that shows the amount of space taken up by the images I added. There’s an option to set the amount of seconds you want to display your photos, but I left it at the preset 4 seconds. If you change it, keep in mind that displaying the photos longer takes up more space on your DVD disk. Everything was ok so I clicked “Next” taking me to the next step.
