Hi there, I created this application mainly because I was sick of typing out batch files by hand to convert multiple (seperate) AVI into a DVD. I have decided to release it to the public, please tell me what you think, and what areas need improving. ConvertXBatch Homepage Well hope you like it, for full details please visit the site. It will truly make you life easier lol. I have attached a screenshot. *Updated* Changed the screenshot lol

Hi there, Thank you for making a Batch Manager As listed here: http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7493 There is a new parameter: /Priority= As new ones will come available, I will update the above thread. I made a feature request to have a new one: /Preview=true /Preview=false To force open, or force close the Video Preview Window. Let's see if it will be added soon.

| hey, nice to know that someone can make use of it. As for the /preview feature request, I assume your asking it to be put into ConvertXtoDVD. Well just to let you know, the next version of ConvertXBatch has been updated to include that. As soon as ConvertXtoDVD has it, the feature will work right away. If not, I can just remove it.... New version out soon...

| I don't think the preview tag will be added before 4 / 6 weeks.. but you can do a tweak by using the registry values too.

Hi there, I assume it's this one ! | Code: | | Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VSO\ConvertXToDVD] "Dkp_Preview_Visible"=dword:00000001 | 1 = Open 0 = Closed To be tested Do you use the /Close switch, so it will close ConvertXtoDVD after each conversion ?

| hi, thanks for the info, i will have a look at that. and yes i do use the /close switch. The whole process is fully auto. You can add your files, projects etc....(just verify that the files in your file lists and projects still exist). then click "Start Conversion". Away she goes....

Hi there, I have tryed v1.1 and I'm very impressed. I might just loose my batch_file.bat and use your Batch Manager !!! Comments: A) A lot of times I will convert movies (Always set to IDLE) and use my computer to email, browse the web while the conversion runs in the background. Because of that, I wish I could minimize the big STOP button ! And/or have a Right-Click option on the Systray Icon and have the STOP button there ? ! ? ! B) Also, as a test, I loaded 2 projects and 1 single file in the manager. I really love what you did, to be able to select Priority, true and false for options on each values... But, once all your stuff is loaded, there is no way, for example to MOVE the single file up the list, and drag down Project #1 in #3 position. Is this something you would do ? Have the ability to move Batch Projects up and down in the list ? C) After doing my above test, I see in the Systay "Conversion Completed" But the big STOP Button window is still open ! Tested on Windows 2000 SP4 at work ! D) What does START.EXE really do ? I renamed it to test, and the conversion still started ! Received a message "ConvertXBatch cannot find a specific file" Curious My 2 cents... Thank you !

hey, thanks for testing it and taking note ok, now for answers. A. I will give the STOP button screen the ability to be minimized. I didnt even think of that problem...der lol. B. I will have a look at the changing order of the files. It was always on my to-do list. C. Thanks for alerting me to that, that will be fixed in the next release. D. Ok, when CxB starts the ConvertXtoDVD process, it becomes "unresponsive", because it has to "wait" for ConvertXtoDVD to do its job, as soon as ConvertXtoDVD has closed, CxB becomes responsive again. The START.exe is actually that big stop button you see. So what happens is: 1. In CxB you click "Start". 2. It executes ConvertXtoDVD, hides itself and "waits" for CxDVD to close. 3. It then executes START.exe (a seperate process, and the stop button) 4. Clicking "STOP" kills the CxDVD process, and tells CxB to stop the batch, allowing CxB to regain control. Now some notes for that process. * If I dont set CxB to wait, just say you have 10 files in the batch. CxB will open 10 CxDVD windows.....(I don't know how to stop it from doing that) * Not the best way, but it works. * It could be done better using threads, but I have no idea about threads. Well I hope that sorts some things out, those bugs you mentioned will be fixed in the next release, plus the preview feature now works completely, using the registry tweak. Thanks for the tip As for the stop thing, I will look into threads and see if I can work them out lol.

Only keep the STOP/Start.exe Window, once done or STOP the conversion, re activate the Systray icon ? I am not a programmer, so sorry if I ask hard things to do | Quote: | | plus the preview feature now works completely, using the registry tweak. | Before you modify the Preview Status (ON / OFF) do you save the value that was there before you modify it ? Then when you close the application, set the valut back to it's original state ? Basicly, I always want the Preview window open when I prepare my projects, but want it closed when I convert. When I manually reopen ConvertXtoDVD, I would like my preview window to be there

Hi again, Just went on your Website: | Quote: | | Well after some research, I have decided to do the following with CxB. 1. The preview feature works completely now. You can set preview on or off. No updating of ConvertXtoDVD required. I do recommend you always have the latest version though. 2. Option to show/hide the ConvertXtoDVD log window. 3. Option to show/hide the ConvertXtoDVD video information window. 4. Setting a different output directory. 5. CxB now has a log, which will tell you if a certain file conversion was successful or not. 6. If ConvertXtoDVD encounters an error, CxB will automatically close it and start the next file. That should keep my busy for a while, but the next version should be out (at the latest) by the weekend. | Man, I'm starting to love it more everyday Again, I hope all the values you modify (Log Window, Preview Window, Information Window) will be reset to it's original values on exit ? I'm sure you will, if you can code this good, you have tought of all this before I did Having a LOG is awsome ! On the interface, if you have space, instead of just saying "Multiple Files" can you add the word "FileList" ? Maybe people will understand more "FileList" than trying to load 3 or 4 .AVI file since only .txt files are accepted ! In the future, maybe have a FileList generator ? Drag & Drop, add files, then Generate a Filelist ????? My 2 cents again !!!

| ok nevermind, i think ive worked out a better way (in regards to the stop button), ill try it tonight when i get home and see what happens.... p.s. the FileList generator is a definite possibility, as for changing the "Multiple Files -> DVD" to "FileList -> DVD", people might also think that if you have a filelist of files, it will add them individually to the list, so its basically the same problem lol. it has tooltip text help on every button, so it shouldnt be that hard.
