Hello everyone,

VSO DivxToDVD would create it's logfiles in the program installation directory.

C:\Program Files\vso\DivxToDVD\ Now with VSO ConvertXtoDVD, the log file location has changed. You can now find the log file here:

C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Vso

First time (possibly very naive) user. Conversion of a .TS file (captured from a USB DVB-T stick) failed. The log showed this as apparently the most critical message: "Unsupported encoder for output stream #3" And by the way, despite the content of this "sticky", the log file doesn't appear to be in the specified directory. All I want is a simple .TS to .MPG (preferrably) or DVD converter. Maybe this is not the product for me. Regards, Alan

Hi there, You are probably using an older version, you are probably using DivxToDvd v1.99 ?

Hi there, Well, if you are using v2.0.15 logs should be here: C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Vso Now, as for this error:

You probably have an input file that the video stream was encoded in a way ConvertXtoDVD cannot underdand it, used a new Codec etc... Provide a full log please.

Please can you tell me what the log file name is? I've done a complete search for everything .log and everything created yesterday (when I did the test), but couldn't see any file that looked like an appropriate log file. Thanks, Alan

Thanks! For some reason the directory was hidden. Is that a function of the install process? Anyhow, I thought that might also be the reason for conversin failure, so I set the directory structure to unhidden. I still get the same result. There are two log files attached. Cheers, Alan

There is easy way to get In CxD 2.1.x goto Help -> Open Log file highlight & copy the text and paste

Well, in theory this is true, but it doesn't always work. Every time I went to Help --> Open Log, I got an error box that said "An invalid pathname was supplied." I tried three different versions of ConvertXtoDVD, tried uninstalling several times, used JVPowerTools' Registry Cleaner to get rid of registry entries--nothing worked. You can find the saga in this thread: http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7655 Mind you, the logfile is where it should be. The only problem is that using Help --> Open Log doesn't work for me, no matter what I do. Sad I've decided to live with the problem, since I can easily find the logfile when I need it. I'm posting this message simply because the instructions you provided don't always work, though they should.

Probably worth mentioning these files may be in hidden view. If you cannot see them you should go to Tools, -- Folder Options...., -- View, then highlight button that says Show hidden files and folders. This should enable Application Data to be viewed.

Hello, Under Windows Vista, the location of logs files is:

C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Vso\

I think this should be updated in the first post of this thread.
