I have tried converting this file twice now, and both times it gets to the same point, and totally locks up my system. I've had to hard boot both times to get out of it. It's an avi file and it plays fine on my pc. Here's a copy of the crash log, anyone see any reason why it won't convert?

Thanks!

Hi there,

1] l notice your log time lasts only 17 min [3.58 - 4.15] l think you should give the program a little longer to work [ say 2hrs] before you stop it. Especially so since your avi is 1hr 56min long.
Make sure you do not have other things running on PC as will only slow process and can sometimes lead to a Freeze up.

2] You say you have to hard boot - does this mean the cancel button on convert X not functioning

Hope this helps

Odd audio bitrate:
Quote:

But anyway, if this file gets stuck always at same point, then there is problems with that file. Try playing it on your computer, look carefully at about 30-35minutes, there most likely is some glitches. Those glitches are enough to either crash CxD or just slow it down so that conversion takes longer.

Thanks for the replies.

Kookee, the file wouldn't convert any further. My system totally locked up. In fact, ConvertXToDVD got weird, the text was jumbled on my screen, and it took a hard reboot to recover.

JJ, I played the file on my system, paying close attention to the 30-35 min mark as you suggested, and it played fine, not even a dropped pixel that I could tell. I'm going to try to burn this file in another program to see if I can burn it.

Thanks again.

Hello,

Is this the first convert you have done with this version. Try another avi file. Perhaps you need to reinstall convertxtodvd.

cheers

No Kookee, I've burned other files with this software version. I can't recall if the other files were avi's or mpeg's.

The file fonzzie was a download. I'm going to try burning the file with another program and see if it goes through.

Thanks.

Apparently it must be the file I'm using. I tried loading it into DVD Moviefactory, and it also crashed. Weird as the file plays fine on any player on my system. There's no visible glitches anywhere that I can tell.

Thanks.

Playing a file is totally different from converting it so there is nothing weird.
