Hi, my samsung cdrw will not write to any sony discs, at all. No matter if it's the coloured discs or the plain ones, once they are sony it won't write. It goes through the process of writing, doesn't report any errors but when I check the disc there's nothing on it and the disc is unusable. My external liteon dvdrw drive has no problems writing to sony cd's. I have firmware version r206 on my samsung which seems to be the latest. Anybody have any idea why this drive has problems with sony cdr's? thanks in advance, Joe.

Hi there, To check for a firmware update for your drive, go here: http://www.samsungodd.com/ For some reasons, right now at work, the site won't load for me. But you should be able to find what you need here !

thanks for the reply. The latest version on that site seems to be r205. I have version r206, which was on it when I got the pc, over 4 years ago. Looks like they aren't providing any new firmware for this drive. I've since discovered that if I burn the discs at 8x they turn out fine. I get coasters if I try to burn above that speed with sony discs. Cheers for trying, Joe.
