When I try converting any file and either force a certain ratio or automatic it never works. I have version 0.4.5.74 and some previous versions do work but not this one. Please advise.

How are finding that aspect ratio is not correct? Are you trying converted files on DVD-player? Some players are not recognizing aspect ratio, most usually when you have a film that is supposed to be 16:9. Player plays it on 4:3 or 14:9, resulting in squashed image. Try changing ratio from your TV while playing. Can you get "correct" picture at all?

hi i get sort of the same issue, i get a small box center of screen when converting 2 mpegs, i have used it for divx mpeg4 and it was fine... now i use every type conversion it can do! i got ots of files from it and all play center of screen black sides all round! all files made say in GSPOT and AVICODEC that the correct size was dine but in reality when played they are knackered... you can sort them by useing ifoedit or i just went back to tmpgenc to size correct!
