| Hi all I thought I would just like to say that I downloaded the trail version of this last Friday and made a PhotoDVD(only allowed me to put 25 photo's on the DVD) I liked it so much that I bought the full version the next day. When I got the full version I put my resent holiday photo's onto a DVD and they were so good I am not bothering to get them printed out so all in all this great little software will save me money.Keep up the good work VSO. One very Happy Chappy |

Greetings, I have to agree, PhotoDVD is a nice piece of software at a very reasonable price, although it is (still) in beta stage. 10 €/$ are not too much, considering that you get free updates for a year and so I purchased a license as well. I am pretty sure, that it will be a very popular tool in the (near) future, but there are some things I miss/"dislike". But don't get me wrong, I don't want to complain... First of all, I am missing an autosync feature for the selected audio- and videofiles. Cutting off the audio right in the middle or looping it to the end isn't what I am expecting, when I want to enjoy the photos I shot on the bigscreen, while having a glass of wine. I hope a similiar feature is planned for a future release to fit the slideshow to the audio. What I found out while watching a PhotoDVD slidehow with "critical" photos (where the "action" happens on the outer edges of the pictures), is that important information was lost through the pan/zoom effect. So, it would be great to have the opportunity to select effects for the specific pictures. But as the website states, PhotoDVD will be a one click solution and so I doubt that such a feature will be included in v1. Maybe PhotoDVD 2.x will have that feature included? Another nice feature would be a "Menu wizard" for really large or different photosets. It could be boring and annoying to skip or search through the half of the DVD to get to the pictures you actually want to watch. Any chances here? Again, PhotoDVD is a good tool and worth every cent, so please don't take my commentary as a complaint, take it as a feature request. Keep up the good work VSO!

| hi, thanks for your comment, sure, we will improve the product, about the audio synchronisation it is the easier to do, but I am still confused about what you want ? about the menu, indeed it will come later in a version 2.0 about the pan / zoom aberation yes, I agree too. We need to tune that. Are you using 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio ? |
