| XDuplicator What it is XDuplicator is a free CDR program. More precisely, it is a graphical user interface (GUI) for CDRDAO recording engine which enables you to create and record TOC/CUE/BIN files, read/write in RAW mode, and copy cds. It also supports Paranoia advanced DAE engine, CDDB, encoding of a CD into MP3 files without any gaps between them. XDuplicator comes in a simple and light user interface with minimal demands on system resources and is amazingly fast. Latest news November 3, 2002 2:00 PM : XDuplicator Beta 5 A Japanese patch has been written by Knothole. Added conversion of TOC to CUE (latest CDRDAO version needed) Added MP3 encoding of TOC/BIN files (latest CDRDAO version needed) Fixed a few CDDB bugs Fixed CDDB record selection (thanks to Eon and Cristophe for their input) Please provide feedback on sticky settings and CDDB options. Known issues and Frequently Asked Questions - CD-RW media support: Will be added when my CD-R drive breaks down. - Lack of documentation: Will be fixed in a forthcoming version. - "Sticky" settings: Keeping them in an .ini file (will consider after gathering user feedback) Fixed! - CDDB : if there exists more than one CDDB entry, you can't select an entry. Fixed for good! - To remember settings each time you start up the program, tick "Sticky settings" under the Settings tab. - XDuplicator writes nothing to system registry or system directories. It can write cddb.txt, log.txt and xduplicator.ini in its own directory should you choose to (will consider registry association with TOC files after gathering user feedback) - By using the built-in function to convert a CD into MP3 files, the resulting MP3 files have no gaps between them (important for live recordings and concept albums!) - You can use Escape and Enter when it is needed, as well as numeric keys. - If your drives are not detected, or if you get a blue screen on startup, probably CDRDAO can't find a proper ASPI driver (not XDuplicator related but rather system related). - If you previously got many errors with audio extraction, try checking the first three options under "Additional reader options". Current status XDuplicator is work in progress. The current version is beta, so there might be things to be added or corrected. Copyright XDuplicator is free to use, but it is copyrighted by Mariposa CDR Guide. If you enjoy using it, let your friends know about this program and site. Charging for it or redistributing/modifying/reverse engineering it by any means without author's written permission is strictly prohibited. Download You can download XDuplicator here (258Kb). All you have to do is unzip and put the exe file in the same directory with CDRDAO and run it. Uninstallation is equally easy, you just have to delete the exe file (and log.txt if you have turned logging on). Please note that you must also download CDRDAO Win32 port from CDRDAO website. To unzip files, you can find compression tools here. The XDuplicator executable is PGP signed by Mariposa. A Japanese patch has been written by Knothole. You can download the patch, run it in XDuplicator directory and XDuplicator will be converted into Japanese.
