hi, I am faced with a strange problem: today I tried to burn an ISO file into a cdr and the burning software reported no errors and finished the burning. However, when I opened the disk in my explorer, I saw a blank disk. Nothing was burnt into it. I have tried with nero, NTI CD-Maker, alcohol 120% and the problem remains. Can anyone tell me what's the problem? here are some specific info: 1. I have tried under win98 and winxp. 2. my cdwriter made burning action during the process. 3. the cdr disk is very cheap but I have burnt successully. 4. after the burning was reported over, windows showed a blank disk. 5. the iso was made out of winiso. 6. I didn't use simulation option so it can't be a simulated burning. I am really troubled by this problem. Please help.

Did you try any recovery software to find out if there's actually data on the cdr?Try Isobuster or CdrDiagnostic.... If they find data,it could be a Winiso prob....

Funny thing, happened to me yesterday too. Just downloaded some new drivers and then wrote, or at least I thought I did, a couple of CDs. Trying to access them, one caused a complete system lockup, others showed as blank and attempts to see what was on them drew a blank with CD Roller. Tried with 4 different burning progs. All the same, shows disc being written and then ejects when write successful. Tried also to rollback system to prior to installation of new drivers. Nothing. Seems mighty strange to me. The writer is a CyberMedia CW088D and is 4 months old. I'm pretty cheesed off with it all. I tried with different brands of media too as well as rewrites. All failed. Drive still reads perfectly though

Thank you guys for your reply. The disks failed are called Vangard which was bought at a very cheap price. After repeated failure, I swapped into another brand and it worked. I also tried another cdrw and it worked too. Perhaps it is the quality of the disks? I will try yet another brand to see what is the real problem. Shano, if you find the solution, please tell me. Right now I will go to the vendor and ask for refund of the rest eight copies.
