question at the very end: First - DRMpro is amazing. I can hardly wait for the drag-and-drop version with wysiwyg preview panel My first substantial project was the combining of two DVD's to one, keeping both discs original menus, and creating navigation between them. After three days of experimentation I developed a rough understanding of what can be hooked up to what (menu PGCs, vts PGCs, Links, Jumps, etc.) and succeeded. The menu on the first disc included a "bonus materials" link to a single cell that displays an obsolete internet address. I changed that link to jump to the second disc's root menu. The menu on the second disc included a "credits" link to a single cell that includes a "main menu" link. I changed that "main menu" link to jump to the first disc's root menu. After updating the second discs program jumps so they still worked it was simply beautiful. The final product looks and feels like a completely professional menu. (here comes the question) But when I use the "menu" button on my DVD remote the disc jumps to one of the main titles chapter menus. I haven't been in DRMpro since I noticed this, and will dive in soon to research the issue. Until then, does anyone have any pointers for identifying the commands that are executed by the remote's "menu" button? Thanks in advance, jt |

I guess it has something to do with this: | Quote: | | Typical usage for GPRMs -Depending upon the value of a specified GPRM, playback is returned to a particular submenu of the VTS, instead of to the root menu, when the Menu button is pressed on the remote control. This is more intuitive to most users, since he/she would want repeated access to the selected submenu which corresponds to the video material he/she wants to see, and not to have to cycle it again through the root menu. - ... | Quote from here: http://www.dvd-replica.com/DVD/gprm.php If it is correct you should look after your GPRM settings (in DRM you can identify them as [R]...). |

| Top menu button goes to your title menu. Menu button goes to your VTS "root" menu. If you haven't identified anythis as the root menu, it won't work. Changing menu types can be done in the left side pane. |

| Mirx is right. Just couple of notes: - there is only one "title menu" for DVD - it is a PGC in VMG titled as "title menu"; - each TitleSet can have its own root menu. |

that's some nice editing the jtheis I've written a guide on this that may help you a with little bits seeing as you now understand most of what is involved in joining 2 DVD's. This guide involves you creating your own new main menu for both DVD's http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/dvdremake/guides/merging/add_vmg_menu_pgc.htm the 2nd joining guide sounds similar to what you just did as it uses the internet link to switch between the 2 with no top main menu http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/dvdremake/guides/merge.htm you may also spot some mistakes or maybe offer some advice on where I may make something more effecient |

| Thank you all for your input. For me, the remote's "menu" button first jumps to the root menu of the current vts, then (second press) jumps to the disc's title menu. In my project there were lots of unused pre-commands that were causing the jump-to-root behavior to malfunction. Changing the first pre-command in each root menu to jump the to correct pgc fixed the problem. The final disc is essentially perfect. MackemX, look forward to reading your guide about creating a new main menu, I've been wondering about that! Thanks again all, jt |
