|
|
| After editing the menus on my first movie using DVDRemake 2.4.0 (not Pro) I find that on the sub-menus no buttons are highlighted. For example, the main menu is OK butwhen I go into the "Scene Selection" nothing is highlighted. If I hit down until it goes to the second page of the menu then it is highlighted and if I go back then the first page has a highlight now. Did I do something wrong when I edited the disc? I figured I didn't need the advanced editing features of the Pro version, but if this is what Basic does then I am pissed at having spent $24.95 since there is no way to correct it. Note: The menus work properly on WinDVD, but not on my standalone Denon DVD-1600. |

That's my guess without seeing how you actually authored the DVD. |

Hi and welcome to the forums what is your BOV set to in the options? to tell you the truth this sounds similar to the Back To The Future issue but in reverse. You say it plays OK on WINDVD but not on your standalone. It may be the layer break thing again as the submenu's will probably be stills is it possible you can send me the before and after DVDRemake IFO's? |

| MackemX, Yes, it works fine in WinDVD and on my PS2, but not on my standalone Denon DVD-1600. I will still have all the files on my hard drive so I will look at sending you them when I get home this evening. The movie in question here was a backup of Jersey Girl, I have since burned The Lady Killers to a DVD+RW and the menu worked fine on that one. I was too nervous to burn straight to a DVD-R. BOV? Is that the timing thing? If so it is to .5 sec in options. |

BOV is OK then it's a shame you don't have the PRO version so you can do a test export which is quicker to burn to DVD-RW to check menu's etc I'll take a look at the IFO's. I will need all the original ones and then the IFO's after DRM both zipping up |

| I don't suppose they make provisions for switching to Pro, other than the $19.95 upgrade, if Basic doesn't fulfill your needs? I have only had the program for 2 days and it ends up costing more to buy then upgrade than just buy the Pro in the first place. |

it's a shame but I can understand what you mean I will suggest something though and maybe Dimad thinks it's a good idea, non practical or maybe he thinks it's cheeky . If people buy the basic version but decide to upgrade within a short time (a week or so), can they not just pay the extra $'s so its the same price instead of being penalised? some people may buy the basic version as they are not 100% sure of buying the Pro version. Afterwards they realise they would have been better buying the Pro version. Buying the basic version lets them experience DRM a lot more than the demo, due to the lack of the export feature in the demo but it also gives a far better idea of whether they really would benefit from the Pro version and a week or so would be long enough to decide I think it's just a passing suggestion |

| MackemX, You have a point, as in this case the Basic program has obviously left some kind of error that my DVD player will not workaround. I may be able to fix it with the Pro, but not with Basic. To me this is a shortcoming of the Basic software in that it does not fulfill my needs, although in a minor way. |

that's not to say the error may also be in the PRO version and chances are it probably is . I will be able to check by looking at the files in fact it's better than you use my Navpack extractor program on the original ripped DVD files and the DRM DVD so I try to recreate it http://cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1025 |

| Jersey Girl actually contains 694MB of crap in the video manager. After the FBI warning etc there are several large and long cells that appear to be totally blank. What gives with these? I have since burned a backup of Twisted and the menus worked fine on that. So I am 2-1 so far with DVDRemake.[/img] |

| I haven't installed 2.4.1 yet, will do that tonight. The big problem for me is that it plays fine in WinDVD so I don't know it's doing it until after I've burned it and then played it in my standalone. I redid Jersey Girl last night just to see, this time deleting the menu transitions, but the problem was still there. If this is a one-off freak disk then I don't care, I was in panic mode bcause this was the first disk I used Remake on. I am also trying to get the latest firmware (068) for my Denon DVD-1600 to see if that solves the problem. |
