| I have noticed that some of the audio CDRs I have burned contain errors. I am not quite sure if they were written incorrectly, or if the source CD contained the errors. So I am looking for software which will allow me to compare the original audio files (.wav) on my harddrive against a burned CDR with the same file. Then I can check my burned CDRs and make sure master backup copies I make for the purpose of copies are clean to start with. And then I can check the copies. My purpose will be to use this technique as a diagnostic tool when there are problems. Perhaps I have bad media, maybe my CDRW drive is problems etc. Of course freeware that can do this would be nice, since I am just getting started on this process. Thank you very much in advance for your advice in any fashion. |

I recommend you Exact Audio Copy for extracting and comparing wavs. You can find it here: http://www.exactaudiocopy.de |

| Thanx for the suggestion. I have already installed Exact Audio Copy and I think it will help me do just what I need. Plus the WAV editor has features I have dreamed about such as "Linear interpolation" and "Pop Finder". Numerous support folks provide excellent tutorials. Highly recommended to any other readers. Plus free! http://www.exactaudiocopy.de |
