|
|
| Hi. Is there anyone who knows about a software that emulates a real CD-R(W)/DVD-R(W) drive under Windows XP? I want, that this drive is recognized from every burning program (also Windows itselfs) as a real Recorder. And when i want to burn on this virtual drive, i has to specify an image-file. Does anyone knows about such a software? Greetings listenerX |

| There are several of them, but they mainly use their own imageformat.....2 of them that are capable to mount different imageformats(cue/bin,CCD;CDI,BWS and so on...) are DaemonTools(freeware) and Alcohol 120%(Shareware,but also a great CDCopier, even protected cd's) |

| I know them, but i think, that they can create only a virtual CD-ROM / DVD-ROM drive. In this drive they can load an image file. And you can make an image with these programs. But what i want, is a virtual CD-RW / DVD-RW drive. And over this drive you can make an image with ANY burning software. Is there a software which can do this? listenerX |

| Yes. But the idea is not stupid... BECAUSE... there are many programs, which have no own "Image Recorder" like Nero. And when i want to make a DVD / SVCD with all features like DVD Menu with Sound, animated background and so on, it will be very usefull to burn it to an image (many DVD Authoring tools have not this possibility) and test it on the PC in an virtial drive. After that, when it woeks correct, i can burn it on a real DVD. listenerX |

Checkout Farstone's Virtual Drive Pro. I haven't read all the details, but the newsest version has some CD buring related functions. I've used their stanrd version for a couple of years to emulate regular CD\DVD ROM drives. http://www.farstone.com/home/en/shtml/vdprooverview.shtml COST $70 Also, check out http://www.cdrom-emulator.com/. One of the features says... "Easy Built-in burner includes: test mode, possibility to write raw and subchannel data, create multisession disks, Track-At-Once/Session-At-Once writing methods. Supports ISO format " This makes me think that it should be able to emulate CD-RW drives. COST $30 Robert | listenerX wrote: | | Hi.
