Well as I was lying in bed last night I concluded that it is just not possible. Although I was able to use the background movie from the main menu, the buttons were completely lost. I'm sorry to say, but until someone creates the software, it is just not possible to save them. |

| There are software for converting PAL to NTSC movie, it's just the menus that are complicated to do. I don't know any software that can do it automatically. It's just much easier to recreate on your own with some menu authoring software. You can convert the PAL menus to NTSC and vice versa manually using a variety of tools and they are not simple tasks. Successful attempts have been made by different users with much patience and guidance and you can google them in various video forums. |

Agreed. It's easier to create your own new buttons and menus. Not that difficult a task actually, just time consuming. LOL. |

I'm running Intervideo WinDVD Creator v. 2.0.
I have already used it to convert a PAL DVD to NTSC. I ripped the DVD onto my hard drive using Copy DVD 123, but you could probably rip it using DVD shrink or DVD decrypter, etc. too.

Donna, what was the procedure you went through? I also have WinDVD Creator and have ripped a copy of a PAL DVD to a folder.
I cannot seem to convince WinDVD to import the files at all. The closest I found was to open all the VOB files... But then I'm back in the boat of re-authoring the disk...
The same place I was when trying to do this using NERO Vision. |

It's cute how I downloaded both of those and neither one has any mention of PAL or NTSC, i.e. the poster's question. |

I have Go-Video and it indeed does work perfect. It kills copyguard and converts PAL to NTSC. My question is, how did you play the PAL DVD in the first place since you need to record line-in, on the fly? If I have to go the computer route, I have DVD X-Copy and Roxio... |
