I've used CopytoDVD successfully for several years to make copies of DVDs I own. Yesterday, I tried to use the program for the first time to make audio CDs using mp3 files. I added the files, but CopyToDVD told me that there was no media in the CD drive, even though there was. I ejected the CD and put it back in. CopyToDVD still couldn't see it. I made sure that the settings stipulated the D drive as the drive I wanted to use for CDs. I'm using CopyToDVD 4.2.2.4 on Windows XP Pro. The CD Drive is a TSST corp. CDRWDVD TS-H492C. I'm using Philips CD-R CDs.
Since I couldn't get CopyToDVD to work either yesterday or today, I tried an old copy of Roxio Easy CD Creator. It had no trouble recognizing the CD in the CD drive and burning the CD. I also tried BurnAware Free. It too had no problem. All the CDs that I burned yesterday and today with these two programs work fine. I have no idea why CopyToDVD is having this problem. I've never used CopyToDVD before for anything but copying DVDs, and it never had a similar problem with them.
I'm very surprised and disappointed. I'd always considered CopyToDVD one of my more reliable programs. Can anyone explain what's happening?
Thanks in advance. |
