|
|
| Sorry if I am not a posting pro, but I'm new to DVD backups. I used the following the guide to split a DVD to 2 disks http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremake/extra_guide_insert_disk_2.php Once all is said and done, I can play the DVDs properly on my computer but when I place the DVDs in my Toshiba SD3900 they don't work. All other DVDs made with DRM pro work properly, with the split movies my player asks me if I want to play MP3/WMA/JPG files but won't recognize the DVD movie. When I check the DVD file structure, (AUDIO_TS/VIDEO_TS) everything looks fine. Did I miss something in DRM that would cause this problem? besides the guide I do the following. -I always hide all blocks in the video manager to avoid the "Warning!". -I hide the special features and additional audio tracks and all associated menus and buttons. Thanks in advance. |

| I don't remove any commands. I have tried following the guide to a "T" and i have also tried less complicated strategies, such as not adding post instruction to "link program". nothing works. It seems that as soon as I remove undertermined amount of chapters, I get the problem. The DVD player can't read it anymore, but a computer can. All I'm doing is hidding chapter half the chapters so i can split the DVD in two to maintain the image quality. There should be nothing complicated about the first disk yet I can't seem to get it to work. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the help. |

| SirQUK: DRM 2.2.3 I just tried using DVDRipper to split disks, then used DRM to remove menus, buttons, and insert disk 2 screen. I'll let you know if it worked in my DVD later tonight. I am a newb and I don't know what the IFO files are so... Dimadsoft: Your post was not my problem..but thanks anyways. Thank you both for the reponses and I will update whether it worked in a few hours when I get home. |

| It didn't work. I got a different error "Disk error". If I burn the DVD ripper output without editting the menus with DRM pro the DVDs are fine. DRM doesn't seem to like the fact that to many chapters have been removed. I will try 2.3.4 but I have my doubts. |

| How many chapters are you removing? What Movie Title? One cannot fix a problem that cannot be reproduced. I just find this intriguing because I've even removed lots of chapters and split maybe 60 titles with this thing, never got this problem. Maybe I'm lucky... |

| I've experienced this problem with DvdRemake Pro. When this happens, IFO playback off the hard disk may ocassionally hang. And Imgtool will complain during the VOB relocation phase of DVD compilatiion that there is non-compliant data in the VOB. When this happens, I go back to the source and use IFOEdit to split the main VOB (when content is in one VOB file), or manually copy VOB file (when contents is already in seperate VOB files). Then copy common files to both disk folders. Then use MenuEdit to move menus around, disable buttons, or edit buttons. Then use IFOEdit to update the VTS. And then burn with Imgtool. |

djelimon: the problem can be reproduced everythime I try and on many different titles, two of which are The godfather (1, 2, and 3) and Saving Private Ryan. I don't think you are lucky, I think I am either unlucky or just too dumb to figure it out. I am removing approxiamtely half the chapter in the movie trying to split equally. Blankman: I trie d a variation of what you are describing. I used DVDripper (it in turn uses IFOEdit but provides easier interface) to split the DVD but in 2 but before burning, i use DRM pro to edit menus, and it still bugged out. I have yet to try it with DRM 2.3.4, but I will try soon. |
