|
|
Greetings,
Joined my first flipper disc. I used the Append PGC method.
At the end of side one, and the beginning of side two there is a blank segment of video. I have split the cells to remove the blank segments. Using the debug player shows the joint as expected, however, using PDVD the exported DVD shows a pixelated frame (actually 2 frames according to Wombles editor) at the join point. I have the "seamless" box checked at the join point.
Have I done something wrong? Why does this show? Can I get rid of it? Thx for the advice. |

This happens sometimes because DvdReMake cut on GOP or VOBU boundary, and is not frame accurate as Womble editor. You might want to cut a little more or less, maybe one more VOBU, to remove this pixelated frame.
If you want frame accurate, use Womble to edit and import the output into DvdReMake, but I think you can already do this in DvdReMake since you're just removing blank segments. |

Thx for the help. I knew there would be a reason for this - and I figured it would be WHERE the cut was made. I think in the case of this particular movie another click into the frame will cut the scene too short as the split point already has some of the visible scene in it.
The other option is to have a blank segment between scene changes (not so good unless its a fade - something DVDRMP can't do).
I'll try another click in and see what the result is.
I've always joined my movies with VOBblanker and never had this result. I might give that a go as well to see what happens.
Again...appreciate the help. |

| Well I played with this for a while - taking an extra click (GOP??), then several more into the video of both sides of the disc. It didn't make any difference. The pixelated frame(s) remained. I ended up joining it with Womble and got a perfect cut. Unfortunately, this way subtitles can't be used as the editor doesn't support them. (This movie didn't require them, so I guess that's a bonus). |
