Hi there.

I have been having trouble with my DVD drive. The model number is - HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N.
Whenever I try to play back an audio CD or a DVD movie the sound is judderry and sounds as if on slow motion, while the time continues to progress at standard speed. Sometimes, but not always, the movie on the dvd also jerks about. I have tried uninstalling and then installing the hardware again, have installed a new DVD Decoder and I have reinstalled my ASPI drivers but the problem still exists.

Can anyone out there please assist with this as it is driving me crazy and I just can't figure out what to do.

Cheers

Have you tried updating your chipset drivers (for you mainboard, if you have nVidia chipset try to remove the IDE drivers the onces from windows could work better)? Updated the firmware of the drive? Have you tried to use lens cleaner DVD/CD? This could help... also check if DMA is enabled in windows.... also you could try to replace the IDE or SATA cable.....
