Thanks for the guide. I had no idea what Enable all operations did until your guide. And I hadn't even noticed the Hide Menu transitions and wouldn't have known what it did if I had noticed it. I noticed Undercover Dancer didn't bother adding a new command to the First Play commands to Jump to the Main Movies Root menu in his guide. Besides using Enable all operations and Hide Menu transitions feature I do everything basicly identical in this guide except I still add a new command to the First Play's Post Command window to Jump to the Main Movies Root menu that looks like this: Jump VTS 8 "root" menu (title 1). One question. I'm aware DRM has the Auto Bypass feature. Does this mean we don't need to add a new command to the First Play post command window to Jump to the Main Movies Root menu?

If you hide everything on the path from FirstPlay to the menu (or movie, but usually disks go to menu on startup) - you don't have to do anything with FP, autobypass will get you to menu quite fast. But it still goes through the all titlesets just as dvd author wanted it to - on some players it takes time (some fractions of a second, but noticable) to switch from VTS to VTS even if no video is played. If you want to keep some trailers or whatever is shown before the menu starts (so that it can be viewed later for example) but don't want it to be played on start up, or need to go to menu "at once" without waiting a second or so in some cases - then you might want to change navigation in First Play. This guide by Mirx may be helpfull in this case: http://www.dimadsoft.com/other/mirx/first_play.zip (it is a zip with Wink presentation ~1Mb)

Thanks alot DimadSoft. I do love having it go instantly to the menu after inserting the dvd. I noticed on a couple dvd's I've done that it takes 5 to 10 seconds sometimes to get to the menu thats why I like adding the jump to root menu command to First play. I alway hide everything in VMG and all VTS's except the main movie VTS. I never keep anything except the main movie and menu's. Let me ask you this. Sometimes I see up to 15 or 16 commands in the First Plays pre command pane. Since I remove everything except the movie and menu and I don't need to use parental levels is it safe to delete every command in first play pre command pane and add only the command to jump to the main movies root menu?

It depends. As you use original menus navigation this may mess up some registers settings and will brake original navigation.

Thanks. I asked that last question before viewing the downloadable Wink file. It helped me understand quit a bit about the navigation stuff. Smile
