Hi guys.

Does DvdRemake have a feature to add a track/chapter to movie?

I would like to add a track/chapter to a movie that is then jumped to, when the "Next" or "Previous" track/chapter buttons on the remote are pressed.

I know that I can split a block and that it creates another block that I could replace with an added scene or clip, but that only concatenates that block with the added scene and it plays seamlessly. I would like to add an independent track/chapter that follows a specific block in question.

Here's an example of what I'm seeking to do:
A movie has three different trailers in the Special Features section. I would like to have the "Movie Only" clip produced in DVD Shrink in Reauthor mode, take that into DvdRemake, go to the end of the movie and add three new chapters for each of the three separate trailers.

If I just:
split last block -> add Trailer 1 -> go to end ->
split last block -> add Trailer 2 -> go to end ->
split last block -> add Trailer 3

This produces the trailers all seamlessly strung together that cannot be skipped to by the remote's "Next" and "Previous" track/chapter buttons. Can DvdRemake create new tracks/chapters to a movie?

You can use Copy PGC/Append copied PGC method: copy the trailer PGC, then go to the movie PGC, and append copied PGC. Added program(s) will be appended at the end. Then go to the Titles pane, and add chapter(s) for the added program(s).

The restriction for this method is the trailer must have the same video/audio/subpicture attributes as the movie, especially the video attribute (i.e. same aspect ratio). You cannot append a 4:3 trailer to the 16:9 movie in the same titleset. Also, both sources must have the same audio stream, especially the first stream, i.e. AC3 6-ch movie doesn't really mix with AC3 2-ch trailer. As for the subtitle, it is ok since the trailer doesn't have it, just like the movie/end-credits scenario.

I personally would put the trailers in a separate titleset if the above conditions are not met.

Thanks yet again, toaddub. We're so lucky to have you here to help us out. Very Happy

Would the above explanations be in a guide I can refer to and save, toaddub?
And hopefully it has screen captures pointing the way

Sorry, no. This method is pretty straight forward really. The Copy PGC is available when you right-click on the PGC in the DVD tree on the left. The Append copied PGC is enabled in the same context menu after you copy a PGC. Append copied PGC is also available in the Programs pane as well.

Thanks, toaddub. I'll give it a try. I'll give you a "shout out" if I'm stuck. Thanks again!
