sorry if this is bringing back old questions (I haven't had any problems in a long time Smile but when i was looking at what i could do with the menu background i saw that I could put a video as my background and have also have music playing.

I'll first start with the music; I put a song into the music slot and converted. No problem. I played the converted files just to make sure and seemed to work right until about ten seconds after I'd opened the menu. The music kept cycling over and over again. When I thought about it I guess it makes sense cuz (correct me if I'm wrong) I really don't think you can have a four minute song as a menu background song. The bizarre thing about this was that it would play the first ten seconds of the song but then keep cycling the last FIVE seconds of it every time after that. Frankly, it got to be quite annoying. So, I guess my question is: Is this the way the program is supposed to work or is it actually a problem that I'm having here?

And my second question is: Is the same thing going to occur when I put a video clip in as my background?

And one final question: Does CXD3 not support menu preview? All it ever shows me is the template that I chose.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer! This new program is a blast and I can't wait to figure this little bit out so i can go on a converting rampage!

Hi,

Let's try to answer those questions:

1) No, the current v3.00 ßeta, you cannot preview the menu.

Menu are generated/rendered, so for now, here's what we all do.

Run some tests with real small 30 seconds files (Music Video, Camcorder videos etc...)

After a while, when you manage v3.00's new interface, you will get a good idea of then end result.

Once v3.00 is released, VSO will work on Menu Preview, since it was asked over and over.

But, I have a feeling, if they need to render the menu, it will be as quick to run quick tests like now (That's MY opinion).

2) The background menu videos are hardcoded to 15 seconds.
Yes, its annoying to get always the same 15 seconds, but it's how it will be for v3.00 when it's released.

Using "Use part of the conversion" or use a custom image then add an audio track or adding a custom video, it will always act this way.

You can change the start time, let's say start the video/audio at 02:18.345

2 minutes, 18 seconds and 345 hundreds of a second, then run for 15 seconds from there.

Hope this answers for questions on v3.00 ßeta
